That’s Laura on the bike. Yep, she’s a bad ass triathlete. She finished third in women’s overall in her first Ironman and even convinced Becca, a yogi, to compete in her first sprint triathlon, in which she finished first in her age group. She and Becca became friends a decade ago when Becca interviewed Laura for an article about women becoming fit at any age. That interview turned into a friendship. That friendship into a partnership.
Laura is a USAT Triathlon Coach and a physical therapist who specializes in triathletes. Her coaching and plans are physical therapy based and designed to get you to your race happy, healthy and prepared to compete. She started out specializing in beginner female triathletes but now has men and women racing all over the nation—from mini sprint distances to full Ironman distances.
Becca graduated with honors with a B.A. in journalism from Washington and Lee University and with honors with a M.F.A. in writing from SCAD. She is a certified holistic health coach from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition, birth doula by DONA International, and yoga and barre instructor. She has spent the past 20 years writing and researching about wellness—specifically women’s wellness.
Laura and Becca trust that through open-minded and well-rounded dialogue and discourse we can educate and empower not just ourselves, but each other to be our most radiant selves. They believe every woman has something intelligent to say. That’s why they started Female IQ Podcast. They interview female leaders in the health, wellness and fitness industries, as well as women—just like you—who have an important message to broadcast.
